• Battery compartment fits — no loose batteries rattling inside

• Battery type matches the listing (replaceable vs. built-in)
• For lithium-ion: UN 38.3 certification is mandatory for air freight

6. Water and dust resistance (where claimed)

If your listing says "IPX5 water resistant," the product better survive a 3-minute low-pressure water spray. Inspectors verify IP ratings with actual tests, not just logo checks.

7. Cable and connector durability

• Bend test at connector junction — 90-degree flex, 50 cycles
• Pull test on cable — minimum 5kg force before disconnection
• Connector insertion/removal — 100 cycles without loosening

8. Packaging and labeling

• FCC/CE marks on the packaging where required
• Battery handling instructions and warnings
• Country of origin marking (must be on product, not just carton)
• FNSKU/FBA labels — correct size, placement, scannable
• Hazmat declarations for lithium battery products (Class 9 label on carton)

9. Drop test

Consumer electronics need robust packaging. Standard drop test: 1 meter onto concrete, 3 edges and 1 corner. If the product survives without cosmetic or functional damage, it passes.

10. Quantity and accessory check

• Every unit: do the accessories match the packing list? (cable, manual, adapter)
• Bilingual manuals where required (English + Spanish for US market)
• QR codes and setup links — do they work?

Amazon's 2026 electronics enforcement update

Amazon rolled out stricter electronics compliance checks in April 2026:

• All Bluetooth products now require FCC ID verification at inbound — no verified ID = no receive
• Lithium battery shipments must include UN 38.3 test summary on request
